Basic Supply List for Hair Clipology

Welcome to our new blog, From The Moo G Studio!

For my first post, I want to discuss the brand new Hair Clipology. For those of you already in the Hair Clipology, WELCOME! I'm so excited to have you there. For those of you who aren't, the Hair Clipology is a monthly subscription box with all the supplies you need to make your own beautiful handmade children's hair accessories. Everything you need delivered straight to your door. No craft store overwhelm or overspend! You'll impress your little one, your friends, and yourself. Your 'me' time will really be yours to create and enjoy.

The Hair Clipology is only open to new members a few times a year. If you are interested in knowing more information about the next time it is open (2020!), please make sure you are on the wait list HERE

Each month you will receive your Hair Clipology package and it will have the materials you need to make the three items that month.

If you were one of the first 24 people who joined the Hair Clipology, you will have received a special gift from me- a box of my favorite items that I use daily in my studio. I will make that box available to purchase soon to current members, but I also want to direct you to where you can find some of the items individually.

Whether you received one of the 24 boxes or not, you will need a glue gun and some glue sticks. If you already have a glue gun and would like to use that, please feel free to do so. You will see over time how you like using it for the Hair Clipology. If you do not have a glue gun yet, my favorite one is the Aleene's Ultimate Glue Gun Kit since it has the narrow tip you can put on for better precision. The Aleene glue gun uses the larger glue sticks like these ones. Another glue gun option is this Surebonder one. I bought these interchangeable nozzles to use the narrow tip for better precision. To start the Hair Clipology I also highly suggest a lighter to seal the ends of the ribbons we will using. The heat will seal and prevent the ribbon from fraying. You can buy one at your grocery store, or a package of these

Although a glue gun pad isn't necessary, I do find it very helpful to catch the glue drippings.

While we are on the topic of glue, my favorite super adhesives are the Loctite Ultra Gel Control Super Glue, Gorilla Super Glue Gel, and e6000

When it comes to scissors, there are a few pairs that I always have near me. The scissors that do most of my tasks are these Tonic Studio ones. A great pair for detailed work are these peacock scissors and a very comfortable large pair to cut glitters and leather are these Fiskars scissors.

Please stay tuned as I will be adding more products to this page. As a member of the Hair Clipology you will also have access to an exclusive supply shop where you can buy items to make more of the clips in the monthly packages. I will include items I have on hand for you to purchase and have shipped with your monthly package. In the meantime, please make sure you have a glue gun, glue sticks, and scissors for your Hair Clipology membership.
